le weekend

Hooray for Friday! I'm pretty excited to see the weekend after a busy week re-reading everything ever written about adhesives at work. I could really use a break from research. And I might just spend my time scrolling these beautiful watercolors over at my new favorite tumblr: Deep Cove Flowers. The artist, Catharine, even has a blog <3 Definitely check it out. And I'm off to volunteer at the Gallery for the day!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

  1. Have a great weekend. I really enjoyed the hair post from this week. Also, those three flower graphics are very pretty. Bon week-end.

  3. Of course. :-0 But you and other bloggers seem to have an insatiable appetite for new stuff. If you don't have cc or student debt then go for it I guess.

Maybe mum and dad help out? marc Jacob bags ain't cheap!

    1. Anon, I completely understand, I think it really depends on the person's situation. There are a lot of bloggers out there who spend an insane amount of money on their clothes, but I don't really categorize myself with them.

Almost all of my items were bought at discount - with the exception of the MJ bag which I bought at full price for my 25 bday. I was planning on buying one for a few years (couldn't decide on exactly what style I wanted) so I just started putting money away. My MJ bag was $450 w/ tax which I don't think is unreasonable for how much I use it. It's definitely my everyday bag now and I usually bought bags from Urban Outfitters or Le Chateau which have all fallen apart. My other bags that I use often (ex brown tote from J. Crew + Kate Spade clutches) were purchased on sale which is the only reason I splurged on them. I buy a lot from J. Crew, but I justify this by rarely purchasing at full price and always using discount codes. I'm definitely the crazy lady who wakes up insanely early to see if the item I want has been uploaded for cheap. That's how I scored my Tory Burch boots!

Regarding where my money comes from, I worked during my entire undergrad and lived at home and had no student loans for my 5 yr undergrad. I only worked one year in grad school, but begun working full time immediately out of grad school. My parents help me out with traveling (if I'm going home to visit) and I'm very lucky that they do. Other than student loans from grad school, my budget is pretty easy to handle: my only costs are phone, rent, and food. This gives me a lot of disposable income, but you're probably right - hahaha I should be saving it. I guess I've got that same opinion as Carrie Bradshaw with keeping your investments in your closet ;)

I really hope this clears things up Anon, you're totally right that I do have some nice items, but really I don't own anything extravagant like Louboutins or Celine purses. HTH
