a mini review:
I received my Tory Burch Amanda Riding Boots in almond on Tuesday and am so pleased with them! I was lucky enough to get them during the crazy online sale before they completely sold out within a day. To make the purchase a little less intense I also had a coupon code to bring them down in price.
I've never owned or tried on any Tory Burch shoes before so I was taking a gamble with shoe size. After reading every review on the internet regarding their sizing back in the fall when I became obsessed with the Amanda and Calista version of TB riding boots, and I was convinced that I should probably size up from my regular 6.5 to a 7. Most reviews said they run small in the leg, but I have fairly slim legs and no calf muscle. My reasoning for sizing up was because I have wide feet and usually get pinched with new shoes. The sizing on me is perfect, the 7 was exactly the right choice for the foot bed and I don't find them tight in the ankle - again small legs, small ankles. If anything the 6.5 probably would have been a better fit for the leg, but I'm sure the footbed would have been too tight, they do seem a tad on the narrow side.
The boots are very comfortable and easy to break in. The leather is soft, beautifully colored (darker than it appeared online though), and the logo isn't flashy so they can be worn as a classic for years to come. I think my favorite part of these boots is how high they are, I'm 5'6'' with long legs and they really make my legs look even longer and slimmer. Very flattering. The only con is the gold zipper pull, when you walk they clink together making a very annoying sound. I haven't found a remedy yet - any suggestions? I'm just thinking of putting clear tape around them to soften the noise.
Does anyone else have Tory Burch riding boots? What are your thoughts? I'm very pleased with my purchase overall, but I know I wouldn't have splurged if they were full price. HTH anyone looking into them!
