Oh dear! I've been so busy lately, that I completely forgot to post my favorite new arrivals for J. Crew for the September catalogue. Silly me. I guess it must have slipped my mind because I haven't really seen much that I really liked or was overly inspired by. The A-line Ponte Dress definitely caught my eye, but unfortunately it's sold out now....I did snag it a few days ago via pop-back and I'm excited to finally have a LBD and a coupon really helped the splurge. The September catalogue does have some lovely pairings, but nothing was really me. I don't know, I'm not really excited for Fall clothing this year - I just wish it could stay summer all year round :D Here's some of my picks for cute clothes from this upload.

 

 

Tippi Sweater in Acorn Navy [ cuuuute take on the whole stripe trend, refreshing and neutral]

Peter Pan Collar Tee [this little gem is darling! but the reviews made me think it wasn't that great]

Tippi Sweater in Swiss Dot [sooo cute! looked great on Emily of C&C]

 

Boucle Peplum Jacket [love this take on the peplum! unfortunately I've got enough blazers now]

A-line Ponte Dress [hopefully this will end up being my go-to dress]

School Blazer in wool flannel [isn't this festiveal blue fabulous - seems so saturated]

Oh me! Oh my! I've been on a blue kick lately - especially denim :)

 

 

1//  I adore this simple look; this girl has the most darling haircut (wish I had the guts to go this short) but the simple white skirt and cardigan is so effortless. Wish I had a white skirt!

2//  OMG something I've alwayse wanted to see: a map of Carrie Bradshaw's apartment - what single gal wouldn't want to live here. And what a big bathroom!

3//  Been loving these classic PJs so much lately. Ivory + Navy piping = dream land!

4//  hehe. true dat.

5//  Been on a denim jacket kick lately. Denim jackets are a staple in my closet (I have two: a 3/4"  sleeve cropped zipper darker wash and a longsleeve button lighter wash....oh and a cute denim vest) but did I ever mention what made me love these? Cameron Diaz in The Sweetest Thing.

6//  Um, isn't this the most amazing pattern for upholstry ever? And I'm really liking the idea of a clear coffee table with blankets stored beneath - great way to display crocheted treasures. Or any handmade quilt for that matter :)

Weekly Outfit Roundup

 

Oh my! Time is just flying - this summer has gone by so fast! I refuse to believe it. This week was pretty slow at work; I was literally watching my samples dry and frankly, getting desperate! I ended up trying some different adhesives because most of my trials weren't performing the way I thought they would. le sigh. Oh well, this is what experimenting is for! In other news, I bought new running sneakers for my 8km walks to work (these Asics; Asics are my go-to brand for runners, seriously the best shoe! But especially since I barely have an arch, so they are very supportive - I always get the GT 21__ line). Also, I found a new coffee shop and their tomato vegetable soup blew my mind. BAM. Blowing my mind on the internet lately is...

1//  Love these tips on exercise routines for the ballerina body - they are from Mary Helen Bowers, who trained Natalie Portman for Black Swan.

2//  Peaked my interest: Are Trends Passé? Everyone wears everything! I think this is slightly true.

3//  This gorgeous 1950s vintage print dress. Very Trudy Campbell.

4//  Watched Whip It last night (fabulous! I had no idea Jimmy Fallon was in it - would have watched it way soon if I had looked at the cast), but then I proceeded to wonder what my Roller Derby name would be....and this roller derby name generator says: Asswhupin' Massacre! Sounds about right ;)

1//  This photo of the lovely Ava Gardner reminds me that I still have so many things to do outside this summer before it's too late!

5//  Been on a major Chris Evans kick lately. I've been watching his movies over and over (obsessed much?) and his hilarious youtube videos with Chris Hemsworth. Priceless! But I'm also pleased to have discovered my new favorite romcom movie: What's Your Number?

6//  OKAY. Need to figure out how to make this amazing chair. It's just dying to be sat in. Phenom.

Weekly Outfit Roundup... sorta

Lovelies! This week has been a time! Of course the busy schedule has not let up as of yet, but I'm hoping it will soon. Unfortunately, I've been so busy with applications and interview prep that the weekly outfit roundup isn't quite going to happen. Instead I've got some pics I've been taking with my phone this week to share. And some things that caught my eye on the interwebs this week:

1//  Been in a pesto mood lately! Here's a great recipe just posted by A Beautiful Mess.

2//  Love these fashion interviews of celebs called The Look. My favorites are Kiernan Shipka and Michelle Dockery.

3//  My curiosity may be getting the best of me here, but is anyone else tempted to try gluten free? I want to try it, but my love of breads and pasta are seriously holding me back.

4//  Seriously, a video of the cutest daschund alive. Meet Ellie.

In other news:

red pants and rain gear are keeping me entertained,

I made a crochet case for a friend's iPhone,

my Edie purse came in, and yes, it is divine,

(anyone else notice they went back to full price?!)

fiiiiiinally got my passport renewed,

and portfolio revamp is taking over my life!
