Weekly Outfit Roundup

Greetings!

Another quick update everyone. I'm leaving for Indianapolis on Tuesday for the week and the big conference. I've completed final edits for my presentation and have gladly made it to the practicing-like-a-mad-woman stage. I think it will go smoothly as long as I speak slowly and confidently. This is going to be so exciting to share my fellowship research results from last year and yes, I am terrified since I found out the auditorium I'm speaking in holds 627 people. Yikes! Mainly to make things a little more crazy, I've signed up to write blog posts on two presentations which I am very excited to do! And I even get a free drink for it :)

I just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for reading and all the support over the last month. This presentation is a big deal and I'm glad to hear such supportive comments from the blogging community. You folks are the best! I wish I could have kept up with all you this past month - instagram stalking has been very helpful tho ;) Talk soon!

Weekly Outfit Roundup

Hi everyone!

Super quick catch up on what I've been wearing and doing lately. I've been preparing my lecture on the results of my last fellowship for the conference I'll be attending in Indianapolis at the end of the month. I am so pleased that my time away from blogging has been extremely productive! I've completed my text and slide show and am well into the stage of practicing. I already had a practice lecture on Friday at the Gallery which went much better than I expected. I'm getting very excited to attend the conference, although I found out that I'll be giving it to a much larger audience than I had originally anticipated. I'm in the large auditorium and only one other lecture is being held at the same time as mine (as opposed to most of the other lectures, where 5-6 lectures are held at the same time). This is going to be a fantastic marketing point for my career, so I hope it goes smoothly. And I'm excited to talk fine art conservation for a week and see my American friends <3

le weekend

Happy Friday everyone! I've had a busy week and will be volunteering at the Gallery's conservation studio today. The surprising warm weather means I'll get to eat lunch outside today and soak in some rays :) I have some disappointing news: I'll be taking another break from blogging - likely, for the remainder of the month - to focus on my career in fine art conservation. The break will mainly focus on preparing for a presentation I'm giving at an international conference at the end of May. Work is definitely going to be picking up with interns coming for the summer, more job applications, volunteering, and I received a new painting to fix (yay!). My main summer research project involves updating a workshop that hasn't been given in over a decade, so that alone will be a lot of work and reading. Don't fret, I'll still be on social media and you can always view what I'm wearing via my instagram account (which you can still see through a web browser, if you don't have an iPhone or the instagram app). 

Hope everyone gets a chance to spend more time outdoors this month! Stay stylish!

How gorgeous are these charcoal on paper illustrations by Hong Chun Zhang? This series depicts drawings of shiny, healthy long hair - called Twin Spirits - are extremely long artworks of her and her twin sister's hair. Not sure if its actually true to scale, but oh my these are beautiful! I was certain they were photographs when I first saw them. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend and gets to spend some time outside :)

How to Wear Mint This Spring

Is it just me, or is mint everywhere this spring?! I'm sure it has something to do with pastels being a key favorite for spring, but the fresh feeling this color tends to bring also makes it more alluring at this time of the year. Thought I'd share a few different ways to wear mint which I've been adoring lately.

| MINT COLORED DENIM | 

Does this have to be explained? Looks like colored jeans may be here to stay and a light minty green might be exactly the color to freshen up your spring wardrobe. I like the idea of pairing them with a simple blouse or plain white tee, but a racy knotted top might be a good option for a night out at a concert.

| MINT BLAZERS |

Mint jackets are not super versatile but are definitely a fun color if you're searching for a noticeable jacket. You can find them in blazer form (I remember Zara had one last summer), but if you are looking for something more sturdy and structured, you might want to go for a studded, minty leather moto jacket!

| POP OF MINT |

If your budget doesn't allow you to splurge on a key mint piece, other options for mint can be worn through jewelry, shoes, and purses. A pop of mint can easily be added with a mint shirt or sweater, which many retailers carry each spring, all you have to do is decide on the shade of mint you are looking for.
